The Most Artsy, Fartsy Thing You'll Ever Watch

The beginning is a LITTLE slow, but I promise it gets crazy. This really fires me up. If you don't feel like waiting, the good stuff starts around 05:10. Enjoy.

Knowledge is power? Isn't it?

First off, I must warn you, the reader, that I'm feeling very erratic and strange as I write this...so this might not be as concise as I'd like to be.

The Merriam-Webster online dictionary defines knowledge as the following:

a (1) : the fact or condition of knowing something with familiarity gained through experience or association (2) :acquaintance with or understanding of a science, art, or techniqueb (1) : the fact or condition of being aware of something (2): the range of one's information or understandingknowledge>c : the circumstance or condition of apprehending truth or fact through reasoning : cognitiond : the fact or condition of having information or of being learned

So clearly knowledge is good, right? Expanding our understanding of any subject surely benefits humanity as a whole. When it comes to the sciences and such, yes, of course it is. The more we know, the more we can create. Assuming what we create is good, not evil, knowledge leads to progression and evolution of mankind. And YES, that is good.

When it comes to life, however, I'm starting to think the more we know, the less we're able to enjoy it. Maybe "enjoy" is not the word I should use. I'll try to explain using an example. Say you're learning how to surf. If you didn't know anything about how waves work, their magnificent force and destructive power, it'd be a more casual, enjoyable experience. Guaranteed if someone told you how much you could get hurt just by riding small surf, you wouldn't do it.

So in SOME ways, knowing less might be better. I'm by no means an expert at anything, so I'm constantly seeking knowledge about subjects that are foreign to me. However, when it comes to life and its many experiences, I'm starting to feel hesitant; I don't want to know too much. Certain things are better left unsaid, some doors are better left unopened, ignorance is bliss, etc...you get the point.

Does anyone else feel that way? Feel free to leave a comment.
